Achieving our accreditation demonstrates that you have gone above and beyond to improve your local community and protect our planet, if everyone shared the same passion, determination, and dedication we’re sure the climate crisis would soon be a thing of the past. We have loved reading about your journey and are incredibly impressed by all you have achieved. We have no hesitation in awarding you an Eco-Schools Green Flag with Distinction, congratulations! Young people in your school are aware of environmental issues and committed to being active and creating positive change. This knowledge and attitude has provided your school with excellent foundations for the many successes that you’ve achieved this year. We’re delighted that the Eco Warriors have been given an opportunity to make a difference through the Eco-Schools programme. It’s clear your Eco-Committee are constantly considering what actions they can take to improve their local community and benefit our planet. Your Action Plan shows that your Eco-Committee have carefully considered how they can involve their entire school in their planned Eco-Schools’ activities to achieve maximum impacts and raise awareness amongst their school community. We enjoyed reading about your plans for your focus areas on global citizenship, marine and water. We love the variety of activities that you and your Eco-Committee have included in the Action Plan. This will no doubt support multi-disciplinary skills and shows how integrated environmentalism is in your school.

PE and Sports Teaching and Learning Summer 2023
We are proud to announce that Edmondsley Primary and Nursery School has been awarded the Gold Award for our PE and Sports teaching and learning. This has been accredited by the School Sports Partnership in conjunction with the School Games Scheme.

We have shown this by inter and intra school competitions which we regularly take part in, the leadership opportunities within sport which our children are given and the curricular and extra-curricular provision which we offer.
International School Award 2021-2024
Edmondsley Primary School started working towards this award in 2019 when Mrs Anderson visited Tanzania and made links with Mapinduzi School in Moshi. Our link school came to visit us and worked with our staff and children in Edmondsley. We all learned about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our visitors even came with us on a school trip to Alnwick Castle! Following this, our children did some work developing/embedding the sustainable development goals and we sent this to our link school in Tanzania. The children loved seeing our work and we enjoyed reading theirs. Their English was excellent! We continued to forge links between schools by taking part in some challenges relating to the goals. Edmondsley are continuing to teach the children about the SDGs and about our wider world through our curriculum.
